Field of View (FOV) and camera pitch are the two most critical components of your visual platform. FOV dictates how the world moves past you, while pitch determines where your horizon sits. When FOV is set incorrectly, the sense of speed is distorted, making it nearly impossible to judge distance to a braking zone accurately. A mathematically correct FOV ensures that the distances you see on screen match the inputs required by your hands and feet. This alignment is what allows top drivers to hit the same centimeter of track lap after lap. If your camera pitch is tilted too high or too low, you lose the ability to look 'through' the corner, effectively blinding yourself to the exit and ruining your ability to carry speed.
